TAKING A SELFIE FOR WHAT? Şevval YİĞİT(190422059)

The "selfie", which has been popular lately, is taking one's self. With the advancement and development of technology, we all know that mobile phones are a vital part of us. Along with smart mobile phones, selfies have taken an important place in our lives and still do. People express themselves by sharing selfies on their social media accounts. They introduce themselves.According to some people, this can be seen as a sign of narcissism.

With the rapid advancement of technology, our phones can take pictures as good as a professional camera. One of the benefits of digitization is photoshop and filters. While taking selfies, people can use some apps to make their faces smoother, with make-up, etc. they can change it. In my opinion, this is a very bad situation for all of us. First of all, it affects us negatively as personal development because as our eyes and brains get used to the filter and effects, our original face starts to look bad to us and creates low self-confidence. Another downside is that many people deceive people by photoshopping their faces. Fraudsters who wanted money by deceiving their partners with filtered photos, which is a very common event today, emerged. even a man turned his face to a woman and collected money by deceiving many men over social media. We take selfies with everyone, some of us share them, some of us save them as memories. I am one of those who both save as memories and share. So what creates our desire to share selfies? For some, suppressing the feeling of being liked may mean attracting attention to others. In addition, the social group, travels and sports as the most important trend of the last years are also the subject of selfies. Every day, the number of selfie-related injuries and deaths rises. This is owing to the fact that Instagram has grown in popularity, and its users are attempting to create material that will garner more attention. As a result, people must expose themselves to increased risks and perils in order to access this fascinating content. It's not necessarily about traveling to a lofty place; cosmetic surgery and living your life solely on social media both have risks.
