Selfies go way back in the years, they started off by a girl posting a single picture of her face, and calling it a selfie, thats Where the word's meaning came from self-ie, it became a nickname. Right now selfies are more modified and edited, this is due to the change of trends and the effect of the social media, and how it's appropriate to take the proper picture to be posted on social media platforms, now people have filters and applications to fix their faces and their flaws, it's mostly placed on girls then guys, girls focus on selfies more, but it's also destructive to their mental health, it became hard because people made it seem like if the selfie doesn't have the perfect lighting and perfect face shape, it's not elegant or worth being posting, this is how the selfies are affecting the society, with their Beauty standards, and whether it's good enough or not, it's destroying their confidence. People shouldn't focus on all the details they should love themselves regardless of all the standards, and be more confident.
