Internet Trolling - Batuhan Yenidunya 180722010

In internet slang, a troll is a person who posts inflammatory, insincere, digressive, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, a newsgroup, forum, chat room, online video game, or blog with the intent of provoking readers into displaying emotional responses or manipulating others' perception. This is typically for the troll's amusement, or to achieve a specific result such as disrupting a rival's online activities or manipulating a political process. Even so, Internet trolling can also be defined as purposefully causing confusion or harm to other users online, for no reason at all. Controversial posts may attract a particularly strong response from those unfamiliar with the robust dialogue found in some online, rather than physical, communities. Social media is a large portion of our lives. It’s applied to everything, and it’s everywhere. We all have it. The internet has 3.17 billion users. With these sorts of figures, all cases of users would undoubtedly be subjected to some kind of social media trolling within their use. Trolls, who make conflict on social media sites by creating controversial statements with the intention of getting mayhem, can be seen in nearly every corner of the network. They may make issues for people, jobs, and the overall well-being of some aspects of social media. It's not hard to see how innovation and technological advancement is a double-edged sword. For instance, on one hand, the Internet has led to the rise of social media which has allowed the people to voice their opinions and connect with their loved ones quickly and conveniently. However, on the other hand, the more inexperienced users started to use the social media platforms, which creates opportunities for internet trolls to attack. Experienced participants in online forums know that the most effective way to discourage trolls is usually to ignore them, because responding tends to encourage trolls to continue disruptive posts, hence the often-seen warning: "Please don't feed the trolls".
