Updated: Jan 19, 2022

The Arabic Collections Online is a digital public library of books authored in the Arabic language that are in the public domain. Currently, this project provides electronic access to 17,262 books on more than 10,148 topics drawn from valuable collections in distinguished libraries. It was founded with the support of NYU Abu Dhabi and is currently supported by major grants from Arcadia, A philanthropic fund of ''Lisbet Rausing'' and ''Peter Baldwin'', And the Carnegie Corporation of New York. This digitization project aims to display up to 23,000 volumes from the collections of the New York University Library and partner institutions. These institutions contribute to providing published books in various fields of literature, business, science, and other holdings from Arab collections. The Arab Collections Online Project aims to digitize, preserve, and provide open access to a wide range of books in the Arabic language on the subjects of literature, philosophy, law, religion, and others. Currently, many important contents of the Arabic language are not widely available on the Internet. The Arab Collections Project on the Internet guarantees global access to a digital library rich in its Arabic collection. Many ancient Arabic books out of print, and easily disintegrating are becoming scarce and in danger of being lost. The Arab Collections Online Project ensures that these books are digitally preserved for future generations.

Digital imaging aligns with a Federal Agency for Guidelines in the Field of Digitization Initiative (FADGI) that was developed with extensive review and consensus by digitization experts in the cultural heritage community. Image master files must be produced as TF-6, uncompressed, sRGB-compressed, or R-GB-combined, 24-bit color (3 channels of 8-bit color), 400p-pi for all photos. Because staying in its natural form exposes it to loss and extermination, there were many scientific books from previous civilizations that were burned and destroyed during past wars, And if they were in our hands, we would roam between galaxies, as we wander between the neighborhoods of our current cities!.
