Social effects of algorithms by Hicret YÃœCEL

It wouldn't be wrong to define algorithms as tricks, as MacCormick calls them. Especially today, there is a danger that algorithms make use of the data of us humans and take advantage of us again in a different way. Actually, the algorithm we are talking about mathematically is useful. But now the algorithm is that the machine knows our data, our information, everything by itself. In other words, we can say that while it is beneficial up to a point, it can be harmful and dangerous later on. For example, algorithms can process our interests by learning our personal information. This is big data, all the information is collected and processed. Algorithms put advertisements etc. in front of us. He can go out with things. People now take every item, object, or clothing that comes their way after a certain point, as if they really needed it. The effort to be like everyone else forces them to imitate their behavior of dressing, speaking and wearing make-up. I think that algorithms constantly processing our data can be dangerous in this respect. This can manifest itself in many other areas.
